In October 2011 the partner companies entered into the agreement on joint development of the project for LPG transportation in tank cars.

In accordance with terms and conditions of the contract “Rail Active Operator” LLC - a member of Rail Garant Group - purchases 400 gas tank cars manufactured by OJSC “Azovmash” with further leasing thereof out to CJSC “SIBUR-Trans” on a long-term basis until 2015.

All the tank cars will be put into operation before the end of the current year. Putting into operation will be performed in batches of 100 and 200 units per month, starting with October 2011.

The partners are discussing the issue of further increase of the gas tank car fleet up to 1.000 units.

“Experts point out positive dynamics of liquefied petroleum gases market development. LPG consumption increases in all sectors where they are applied: in industry, communal sphere and transportation. In the coming years we are expecting further growth of LPG production both due to productive capacities increase and due to increase of LPG utilization degree. All those factors will contribute to growth of LPG transportation volumes. For Rail Garant Group gas tank cars constitute a new fleet and a new direction of activity. Acquisition of tank cars will allow to increase the consolidated fleet of the Group and, in future, to switch to independent forwarding in highly specialized but rapidly developing and promising market segment,” - says Yury Shamardin, the Managing Director of “Rail Active Operator” LLC. “Acquisition of the tank car fleet for LPG transportation is a new round in further development of partner relations between Rail Garant and CJSC “SIBUR-Trans.”

“The deal entered into with Rail Garant Group is of considerable importance to CJSC “SIBUR-Trans”. Thanks to it we will be able to stabilize volumes of product exportation from SIBUR Holding plants. We are leasing tank cars on a long-term basis. It is a major deal in the market of specialized carriage rolling stock for LPG transportation. This deal is also one of the major ones for “SIBUR-Trans” for the last few years” - adds Pavel Belousov, the Deputy General Director of CJSC “SIBUR-Trans” for production.
